There are a few ways to get a bee to where you want to have them. The best rate is either on Plains or Sunflower Plains at a 5% chance. The rate of bee nest spawn varies per terrain, so check the wiki for exact rates. You can 'force' a bee nest to spawn by placing flowers on the same level of terrain (same Y coordinate level) and within 2 tiles of an oak or birch sapling, then hitting the sapling with bone meal for faster growth. The baby will take 1 full game day (20 minutes) to mature. They will then emit the red hearts showing they are ready to breed, a baby bee will appear, and the act of breeding will drop 1-7 experience. Breeding bees is you feed 2 bees (in close proximity to one another) a flower (of any kind) to each bee. They do not spawn in empty nests or hives their population only expands with player interaction by breeding or natural nests generating in the wild. Minecraft bees will live in a nest or hive in a population density of 1-3 per nest/hive. You can anger a bee by hitting it with a weapon, harvesting honey/honeycombs from a natural nest or built hive that does not have a campfire underneath it, or breaking a nest/hive.
